FREEDOM WALK/RUN Day
Two Important Points
1) Event day is NOT the day to experiment with anything new.
The shoes, socks and gear you wear, the food you eat, and the
sports drink you sip, all should be familiar items you have
used successfully at least once on a long walk.
2) On the day of the run/walk, participants will be informed
of check points/resting points

TIPS
CHECK IN
Check in for the walk and to receive your tshirts to wear over
your long sleeves/current shirt will begin at 9AM, SATURDAY
NOVEMBER 17TH at the JUSTIN HERMAN PLAZA on the corner of Steuart
Street and Market Street. Details of the route will be clarified
shortly during the walk
During check in, we will provide you: Freedom
Run Tshirts if you have not arranged to pick them up earlier,
and a runner/walker number. Keep the number until the end (check
out) so that we can account for you and your safety. Should
you decide to not join us at the end for any reason, you must
contact your point person.
CHECK OUT
Check out at SAFEHS table so we know you are safe!
Once you’ve finished the run/walk, you’ll want to
rest, drink, and eat. Walk around slowly and stretch when you’re
done. If you sit down immediately upon finishing your muscles
will begin to stiffen. Drink. Water is your first priority!
Eat solid foods. Stick with carbohydrates--fruit, cereal, bagels,
pasta--for the first few hours.
Relax.
