Photography Workshop Series with Rose Khor

October 18 & 25, Thursday
3PM-5PM
Location: Email annie@safehs.com for details

The workshop, “In and Out of Focus: Photography as a Way of Reflecting,” aims to empower participants by teaching them photography skills and ways of seeing as a basis to critically reflect on their lives and their communities. During this two-session workshop, students will be introduced to the history of photography as an art form and taught the basic techniques of picture-taking. They will use the camera to photograph their everyday surroundings, and during workshop, we will discuss the content and form of their pictures. These workshops will emphasize the importance of group trust and participation by including discussion groups, group photographing, constructive critiques, and a field trip. All students may choose to include their photographs in the “Out of TimeSpace” symposium and multimedia art exhibit sponsored by UC Berkeley and the San Francisco Art Institute.
